Depositing Money into Your Account
You must fund your account with real money in order to play in “Real Money” mode:
Finding a Poker TableFinding a Poker TableThere are many different kinds of real money poker games that you can play at William Hill Poker. They are called ‘Ring Games’, and basically mean that the bets you make are made with real money. We have a range of currencies and languages with which this can be done. After establishing your player account, you can use the instructions below in order to find a cash game suited to you. ![]() 1. Choose the poker variation you wish to play. All our many poker games are accessible from the poker room lobby by clicking on the “Cash Tables” tab on the screen’s side. There you’ll find everything from Texas Hold’em to 5 Card Stud, but if you aren’t aware of the differences between them, we advise that you learn more about them here.> 2. Choose a limit you want to play by. Limits refer to how much you are allowed to bet in a given game, and in general, the smaller the limit, the lower the risk of losing all your chips quickly. The main limits available are: Limit, No Limit (NL) and Pot Limit (PL). If you are looking for a particular kind of limit, you can also filter out other ones shown on the cash games list.
3. Choose the stakes you want to play with. The stakes offered at our poker room range from 10c all the way to $200, with the only requirement being that you have at least 20 times the stake in order to play. So if you want to play at a $2/$4 table, your bankroll needs to be at least $80 to participate. However, we advise that you play with more than the minimum so that you’re not at a disadvantage against players with larger bankrolls. A major part of playing at a real money poker game is knowing as much as possible on your opponents. An explanation of the different elements of a real money poker game below will help you in doing this: Players:the amount of players seated at the table you have chosen. Wait: sometimes the table you want to play at may be full. Our poker software lets you wait for a seat to become available and then use it when it does. In the wait area you’ll be shown both the number of people seated at the table and any other seats opening up at similar tables that you want to take. PL/Flop: here you’ll see the amount of players left at the table once the board cards have been dealt. The higher the amount of players, the more intense the game is. Hands Hour: displays the amount of hands played each hour at the table you’ve chosen. This number will increase as the number of players decreases. Average Pot: displays the average hand value for each hand that is played. Usually, a high number represents aggressive poker play. Selecting a Poker TournamentSelecting a Poker TournamentThe information displayed here will help you in choosing an online poker tournament: Structure: in a poker tournament, the buy-in is the same for all players and acts like an entry fee which is contributed to the jackpot. Similarly, each player is awarded the same chip stack to begin with, yet the one to win all the other’s chips is the final winner. Buy-In: the buy-in for a poker tournament is always displayed with 2 numbers, such as $10 + $1. The first number represents the amount that will be contributed to the tournament prize-pool, and the second number represents how much of your bet is paid to the house in commission for setting up the tournament. The sum of both numbers is what it costs you to enter the tournament, yet you can also find tournaments with no buy-in. Main factors: the 2 main things you must consider when selecting an online poker tournament are how long you would like to play and how much you are willing to spend (IE – the size of the buy-in). Tournament Types: the 2 main tournament types to choose from are scheduled tournaments and Sit n Go’s (each explained below). Each of them is comprised of several different tournament types too, such as Heads Up, Beginners and Satellites. Scheduled Tournaments![]() Scheduled tournaments are characterized by the fact that they have a predetermined starting time. We have many different scheduled tournaments starting all the time, and if you are looking for a certain one, we also offer a filtering tool so that you can find it easily. To register for a tournament you wish to compete in, simply click on the ‘Register’ icon and the required buy-in will be deducted from the balance in your player account. All you need to do to start is to be logged into your account when the tournament is scheduled to start, and the tournament window will open for you automatically. Sit n Go![]() Sit n Go poker tournaments are characterized by the fact that they begin only when enough players have signed up to fill the table. There is only one table used in a Sit n Go, so it generally only takes several minutes before enough players are registered to compete. This is also why there are new Sit n Go tables appearing in the lobby all the time for people to register for. Once you’ve chosen a table size you must then select a stake and a limit to play with. You can play either Limit, No Limit (NL) or Pot Limit (PL) at our Sit n Go tournaments, and can use the filter function in order to display only those that you wish to play when trying to find the Sit n Go suited to you. The filter is activated by pressing on “Filters are off/on”. There are also many kinds of Sit n Go poker tournaments available. Some of them include Beginners Sit n Go’s, Satellites (for entry into major online or land-based poker tournaments), Jackpot Sit n Go’s, Heads Up and Private Sit n Go’s. Our poker tournaments section explains the differences between all these tournament types in more detail. Free Poker Tournaments
